Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are becoming increasingly popular among celebrities and TV personalities. It has been recently reported that many of the long-standing stars from the hit reality show ‘Made in Chelsea,’ are still looking as fresh and youthful as they did when they first appeared on the show many years ago. The secret of their youthful looks is the use of dermal fillers. Used by Hollywood stars such as the Kardashians and Nicole Kidman, celebrities and everyday people alike are opting for this anti ageing treatment.
Here at Eternal Youth, we can restore your youthful skin and reverse signs of ageing with our dermal fillers. We currently offer 3 different brands of dermal fillers, Juvederm®, Sculptra® and the most popular and widely-used range being Restylane®.
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers help to reduce the visibility of fine facial lines and creases. They help to restore volume and fullness in the face, making our skin look supple and youthful. As a natural process of ageing, our faces will lose subcutaneous fat. This causes facial muscles to work closer to the skin surface which makes crow’s feet, smile lines and lip creases become more apparent. The skin on your face is very thin and delicate, this makes it very vulnerable to damage.Offering popular women’s necklaces such as pendants, chokers and chain necklace. Other factors that can cause havoc on your face include sun damage, smoking, poor nutrition and caffeine. Ageing causes your skin to lose its elasticity, causing it to stretch over time resulting in loss of facial volume. Dermal fillers are a perfect solution to help to reduce facial lines and wrinkles, restoring volume and fullness in the face.
Dermal fillers can be used to:
• Restore facial volume
• Enhance shallow contours
• Soften creases, fine lines and wrinkles
• Plump and smoothen lips
• Improve the appearance of recessed scars
• Broaden the jawline
Are Dermal Fillers and Botox the same thing?
Many people get confused between dermal fillers and Botox. While they are both used to reduce visible signs of ageing, they work in different ways. Botox works by relaxing your facial muscles and reduces activity within your facial muscles which causes wrinkles. Dermal fillers work by filling in problematic areas, it also helps to stimulate collagen growth within the face as well as plump and lift the skin to replace collagen loss.
As both procedures work in different ways, they can only work on specific areas of your face. Botox is used for lines causes by facial motion or areas which are stimulated by your facial muscles, such as frown lines and eyebrows. Dermal fillers are better for static wrinkles, which are visible even when your face is relaxed and appear when no expression is made. These areas of your face are depleted and sunken in due to loss of elasticity. Dermal fillers will restore fullness and volume back into those areas. Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with irreversible signs of ageing, or as a part of facial rejuvenation surgery.
Dermal fillers are injected under the skin via a fine needle. The procedure causes very little pain and side effects are minimal. Depending on your treatment needs, the procedure can last anything from 20 minutes up to an hour with no downtime or recovery needed. You are able to return to your daily activities straight away with only mild swelling which may last up to 48 hours and a very slight risk of bruising. Dermal fillers typically last around 6-12 months depending on which filler you use.
