So much of what I do hurts. No it doesn’t hurt me but it is a little uncomfortable for the patients. I am sure that if it started to hurt me I would stop pretty quickly.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to offer something that was truly pain free? Perhaps something that was actually even nice to have done? It would still have to work though.
Omnilux.
Photo Dynamic Therapy.
Relatively uninspiring names for a really good treatment. Not all light waves are bad for you. Ultraviolet of any sort is, so ‘Use Sunscreen’. (I feel sure I have said that before somewhere…) But we have discovered that some particular frequencies of light are positively beneficial and the guys at Phototherapeutics have come up with a device that can deliver these frequencies in a safe and very pleasant way. They use specific LED arrays to produce just the frequencies we want.
This device has three different ‘heads’ which give out three different ranges of frequencies or colours of light, with three different beneficial properties. Red. Blue. Black.
Well ok, not black, as black is the absence of light, but the ‘Near Infrared’ head produces a form of light that we can’t see so we call it the ‘Black’ head. In fact it has 4 yellow LEDs in each panel so that we can know when it is on.
So what do they do?
The ‘Red’ head is particularly good for wound healing and we often use it after a laser Rx or a dermal filler session. It stimulates wound healing and speeds up the processes.
The ‘Blue’ head is excellent at suppressing the bacteria associated with acne and thus this is a great way to damp down and prevent the recurrence of troublesome acne spots.
The ‘Near Infrared’ head is very good for photo-rejuvenation and improvements in lines and wrinkles on the face.
In most cases a combination of the treatments is most beneficial so for acne we do alternating red and blue and for facial rejuvenation we do red and black.
The treatments take roughly half an hour with twenty minutes under the LEDs. We start with a gentle cleanse then apply a vitamin C serum, then switch on the light. We often do a hand massage whilst the light is on and then finish with a particularly good hydration cream when the light has switched off.
All told a very pleasant treatment which does have very significant effects. It deals with photo damage caused by exposure to ultraviolet light, it stimulates fibroblast regeneration and new collagen formation. It improves pigment variations in the skin and overall improves the youthful look of the skin. It is mostly done on the face but can be used on any exposed area of skin.
The blue light is very helpful for those who suffer from acne problems. In fact it is so nice that I have one every now and then just for fun!
So here we can now offer you something which is very pleasant to have done and very beneficial to your skin. So how could I improve on that?
Well how’s about a special ‘credit crunch’ ‘get it while you can’ summer offer of 30% off our current prices till August 31st.
You can’t get any fairer than that.
